The silicone lid has become one of my favorite gadgets. Just plop it in place, and it works very well, as a cover and also a splatter shield, both on stovetop cooking, and in the microwave. The lid is floppy, which is ok, but I suggest using it on pans an inch or so smaller than the diameter of the lid itself, so that it won't buckle and slide inside. You DO have to be careful of steam and condensation drips when you remove it from a hot pan, since it seals to the pot so well. I find it very handy to use in the refrigerator, also. Very easy to wash, by hand or in the dishwasher. I liked this lid so well, that I have purchased several others in a variety of sizes. They are flat and flexible, so they are very easy to store, which is a big plus in my estimation.
